remember this?

Ok... the other day a childhood memory blew to the surface like a balloon that couldn't be held under water.

I walked down the hall at church toward the kitchen to refill my coffee cup. When I rounded the corner I was suddenly hit by the odor of Mercurochrome! Does anyone remember that? It was this orangish-red liquid in a tiny bottle used as an antiseptic for scrapes and cuts. It looked similar to betadine, but with a very heavy smell and a wicked sting.

Turned out the school kids were in Art class and the odor was their paints. Whew! I was afraid it was back on the market...
