Vote, baby, vote!

Ok, I admit it openly, I'm very nervous about the election tomorrow. It seems that people make assumptions based on how smooth someone speaks, how well he or she presents him or herself rather than by the substance of the person. Doesn't character seem to matter? Do people even ask questions of the candidates to help them sort out what he or she stands for?
  • Is this person trustworthy?
  • Has he demonstrated good judgment in the past?
  • How does he make his decisions and why?
  • What has he fought for and why?
I'm also surprised that messages are apparently delivered from a pulpit, not of our responsibilities as a Christian voter, but directly saying who to vote for. Hello?? Although I may not agree with your choice and who you plan to vote for, voting for or against a particular person just because someone encourages or directs you does not demonstrate your faith. It does show how easily people can be swayed and how little they think for themselves.

So... vote your conscience. Vote because you've studied the issues. Vote for the candidate you believe in.

I thank God our salvation is not determined by our political leaders but by our faith in our risen Savior, Jesus Christ.
