winter storm in spring?

This is amazingly odd weather. The forecast had been calling for rain, sleet, sleet/snow mix, and snow totaling from 8-12" and was supposed to start after midnight. Well, we are getting much of what they predicted though we chuckle at their timetable. It rained early this morning, by noon from freezing on the trees, and by mid-afternoon we starting getting heavy slush directly from the sky, so fast that the snowplows couldn't keep up with it on the streets.

The snow has kicked in and is coming down in sheets. I stuck my head out the front door to snap some of these pictures and felt like I was being targeted with snowballs! Stan came in a few minutes ago to report that KCI has been temporarily closed.

Meghan made some wonderful original oatmeal cookies this afternoon - so very fitting with the wintery weather. We're going to work on "projects" while Stan's watching the game, then hopefully go out for Mexican for Meghan's birthday, then play The Game of Things tonight.
